NFC South: Falcons Recap

Filed under: Atlanta Falcons, NFC South

Game: Atlanta Falcons vs. San Francisco 49ers

Score: Falcons 16, 49ers 14

The storyline: The 49ers showed up with a team that looked a lot better than 0-4 and gave the Falcons all they could handle with an aggressive defense. San Francisco jumped to a 14-0 lead and then perplexed the Falcons' offense with run blitzes out of the 3-4 and linebacker blitzes from every angle. Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan did not get into a groove until late in the game when he took the Falcons downfield for a winning field with two seconds to play.
