Beanie Wells missed the first three games of the season as he recovered from a knee injury that required surgery in early September. Even though he's been back for five games, it's clear that Wells is still bothered by a gimpy knee. Now it appears that the doctors' attempts to fix Wells' knee may have made it temporarily worse.
An injection of a lubricant in his knee this week caused an allergic reaction that in turn caused plenty of swelling. Wells has missed almost all of practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week. If his knee hasn't improved significantly by Friday's practice, there's a good chance that he will be limited on Sunday.
Wells also missed the final series of last Sunday's game with a back injury. The news that the knee is still giving him pain may help explain his lack of production -- he's rushed for more than 60 yards only once this season and he's yet to top 80 yards. Of course, the lack of a consistent quarterback isn't helping Wells and the Cardinals' running game either.
