Ten years out of the spotlight didn't put a damper on Sade's shine, as the runaway success of her latest LP, Soldier of Love, proves. The British songstress owned the Billboard charts earlier this year with a collection of signature soulful cuts, which spent weeks at the top spot and scored more than 800,000 scans within a month of its February release.
Now the Nigerian-born songstress is packing up her band and hitting the road in support of her sixth studio album. According to a post on Sade.com, the singer will head out on her first world tour in a decade and will launch the North American leg next summer. The "Sweetest Taboo" crooner is slated to hit the stage with 50 arena shows and will kick off the Stateside concerts in Baltimore on June 16 at the 1st Mariner Arena. Dates in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia have also been confirmed. Additional tour stops in cities such as Atlanta, Detroit and Las Vegas will be announced later. Tickets for certain dates will go on sale October 16.
Although a New York City stop was not announced at press time, charity-minded Gotham dwellers will get the chance to check out the Grammy-winning legend onstage on Thursday (September 30): Sade is slated to perform at the seventh annual Black Ball NY, which is organized by Alicia Keys' Keep a Child Alive organization, at the city's Hammerstein Ballroom alongside Jay-Z.
Earlier this year, Keys expressed her excitement about having the soul-music superstar participate in this year's event. "Sade? Jay-Z? Both icons and both major influences of mine," Keys said in a statement. "I am overwhelmed by their generosity in helping us continue the tradition of making the Black Ball the best fundraiser in NYC."
Sade tour dates so far, according to her website:
» 6/16 - Baltimore, MD @ 1st Mariner Arena
» 6/19 - Philadelphia, PA @ Wells Fargo Arena
» 6/21 - Uniondale, NY @ Nassau Coliseum
» 6/24 - East Rutherford, NJ @ Izod Center

Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake Perform a Hip-Hop Duet

Get ready, America: Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon just might be the next great hip-hop duo! The multi-talented pair took a break from the usual routine to bust a few rhymes on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night.
Timberlake stopped by the show to promote his upcoming movie The Social Network (which has already garnered Oscar buzz for the star). But it seems Fallon had some other ideas for the visit.
After chatting about his *NSYNC days, the guys, who have crooned together in the past (remember the hysterical "Barry Gibb Talk Show" skit from Saturday Night Live?) launched into a rousing hip-hop medley.
Led by the Late Night house band The Roots, Timberlake and Fallon thrilled the audience with their renditions of rap classics by the Sugar Hill Gang, The Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem and more. Watch the clip below to see the whole enormously entertaining performance:
Seriously, is there anything Timberlake can't do? The singer-turned-actor looked completely in his element during the number. Of course, Fallon was impressive, too. Though it's hard to say if it surpassed his star-studded Bruce Springsteen-themed Emmy opener this year.
Encore, fellas!

Jason Garrett Reacts to Imbalanced Cowboys Offense
Filed under: Cowboys, NFC East
As the Cowboys head into a three-day bye weekend, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett talked about how his much-scrutinized unit has done through three games.Garrett has called 130 passes to just 69 runs, a much greater imbalance than the 584-386 ratio during Dallas' 2009 NFC East championship season, but Garrett's not concerned, especially this early in the season.
"A lot of people get caught up when they look at the stat sheet at the end of the game and say, 'Boy they throw it this many times and they run it this many times,' " he said. "A lot of times you'll run the ball late because you're ahead or you'll throw the ball late because you're behind and that will distort the final stat sheet."
But Garrett, a former quarterback, did admit that the 1-2 Cowboys have to run the ball better and more often to keep defenses from keying on quarterback Tony Romo and the passing game. Dallas was sixth in passing and seventh in rushing in 2009. This year, the Cowboys are fourth in passing but just 26th in rushing.

Report: John Carney to Kick Sunday

John Carney said he was there to carry the bag, like the dutiful caddie for the big-name golfer. But the 46-year old kicker might be the big-name on Sunday, and not on the bag.ESPN.com is reporting that the Saints will replace playoff hero Garrett Hartley with Carney on Sunday for the NFC South game in the Superdome.
There was no word yet from the Saints and coach Sean Payton, who were practicing. ESPN quoted a league source.

will.i.am Reveals Science To Making Hit Records On 'The Seven'
Black Eyed Peas producer says 'if you want a song to be a big #1 smash, then you have to play a Michael Jackson song while you're making your song.'

As the mastermind behind inescapable jam "Boom Boom Pow" and record-disintegrating smash "I Gotta Feeling," will.i.am has been rockin' bodies — and those are just the hits he's pulled off for the Black Eyed Peas. The producer/rapper has also powered chart-winners for stars Usher, Estelle and John Legend and has recently turned his hitmaking skills toward fellow MC Nicki Minaj.
On Wednesday's (September 29) episode of MTV's "The Seven," will, who teamed up with Minaj for her peppy Pink Friday offering "Check It Out," broke down his approach to creating chart-busting tracks. He said he mines inspiration from some of music's most game-changing artists when he puts together a record.
"We call it 'A-B-ing.' Anything you make, there's nothing new under the sun. So there's always an 'A and B' to whatever your approach is," he said. "So if you want a song to be a big #1 smash, then you have to play a Michael Jackson song while you're making your song."
He said using an artist such as Jackson as a benchmark will usually let a producer know if a track really has that 'It' factor. "What you don't want to do is have a 'hit record' and then turn it on and it isn't as loud as Michael Jackson's."
Minaj, who experienced will.i.am's skills firsthand on "Check It Out," said hopping in the studio with the Peas frontman was a singular experience.
"That's when I knew he was a freaking, next-level ... not even a human when he recorded me," Minaj told "The Seven." "The word 'producer' ... means different things depending on who's using the word. will's the only producer that produced me. He really sat there and he got this weird sound, and I was like, 'What?' "
In addition to drawing an insane performance from will, the Young Money Barbie marveled at his ability to quickly craft the cheery instrumental.
"The beat wasn't even done," Minaj recalled. "He made the beat on the spot."
Minaj's awe for will appeared mutual. The Peas lyricist said the hip-hop upstart is way more than just a rapper with a rollicking flow; she's an artist.
"Her being a dope rapper, a dope MC, is just an element of the Nicki factor," will said.

Ryan Matthews Returns to Practice for San Diego Chargers
Filed under: Chargers, AFC West
Chargers' rookie running back Ryan Mathews was able to take part in Wednesday's practice without restrictions. This was an encouraging sign that his ankle injury may not be as serious as initially feared.Mathews, the team's top draft pick, injured his ankle in the first quarter of a Week 2 game against Jacksonville. He did not return, and subsequently was held out of last Sunday's 27-20 loss at Seattle.

Trent Edwards 'Anxious for the Opportunity' in Jacksonville
Filed under: Bills, Jaguars, NFL Quarterbacks

Give Trent Edwards credit, though, for looking on the positive side of things.
"The weather is definitely better," Edwards said upon his arrival Wednesday in Jacksonville two days after his surprising release by the Buffalo Bills. "No, I did not expect this to happen, but things happen for a reason ... I'm excited to be here (and) really anxious for the opportunity."
Edwards, obviously, would have preferred if things had worked out in Buffalo, but there has to be some sense of relief that he has put the dysfunctional Bills in his rearview for a chance at a new start.
Even if it means not starting.
Edwards, the fourth-year pro with 32 career starts, will begin his time with the Jaguars behind struggling starter David Garrard and recently signed backup Todd Bouman. At No. 3, though, Edwards shouldn't feel particularly buried on that depth chart.

Mariah Carey Wheelchair-Bound After Twisting Ankle
Rep says singer was injured in Singapore and failed to pack 'more sensible shoes.'

Days after a video of Mariah Carey taking a dramatic tumble onstage over the weekend hit the Web, the powerhouse — and possibly pregnant — singer was snapped at Los Angeles' LAX airport tooling around in a wheelchair.
On Wednesday (September 29), Carey's rep revealed that the Grammy-winning songstress sustained an injury in Asia and that she needed the new set of wheels because the famously glamorous star only brought along treacherously high heels.
"Mariah twisted her ankle in Singapore and should have packed more sensible shoes, but she doesn't have any," Carey's rep, Cindi Berger, told UsMagazine.com. "I'm sending her a pair of flats today."
Although the video shows Carey sporting a fuller figure, the superstar songbird has ducked rumors that she is indeed expecting.
"I appreciate everyone's well-wishes. But I am very superstitious," she wrote on her website in August. "When the time is right, everyone will know — even Cindi Berger."
Carey's hubby, Nick Cannon, hasn't been any more forthcoming about whether the duo are expecting a little one. However, he has explained that Carey is waiting for the right time to announce any news she may have.
"I think 'superstitious' might be the wrong word," Cannon explained to Us last month. "I think it's more of a spiritual thing, like trying to stay true and stay private for as long as you possibly can. She wants to keep as much privacy as she possibly can."
Cannon maintained that Carey has the final word when it comes to confirming any impending arrivals.
"I've said it before and I'll say it time and time again — when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her," he said. "We all know it's extremely personal, and it is for a woman to deal with things with her body, and especially when dealing with the idea of childbirth and all that stuff."
Despite the onstage spill, Carey sent out a post-show tweet referencing the incident and assuring fans that she was all right.
"TY SO much to my fans in Singapore!!! Yeah, several hectic moments, (lol!)but I tried to swirl them into festive!.Love+ God Bless!" she tweeted on Sunday. "Again Singapore, thanks so much for allowing me to just be who I am &just have fun+connect w/everyone there! Thanks 4 the LOVE!x0x"
Leave your well-wishes for Mariah in the comments.

What They're Saying:
"Rest assured, much of what made the first film so special remains intact." - Associated Press
"While all that is artful about Let Me In comes straight from the original, the Hollywood version commands respect for not dumbing things down." - Variety

What They're Saying:
"Shlocky and ridiculous it may be, but this horror-thriller really is gleefully gruesome and undeniably entertaining: smart work from German director Christian Alvert." - Guardian
"While the viewer will remain one step ahead of the story at all times, director Christian Alvart manages to keep the emotionally charged events moving at a fair clip to gloss over the mounting credibility factors." - Radio Times
Good For Kids?
Case 39 will leave the kids with a bad case of the shakes.

What They're Saying:
"Disney's effort to turn Kristen Bell into America's Sweetheart reaches its tipping point with You Again, a flat romantic comedy that packages her in a funny setup and surrounds her with funny people." - Orlando Sentinel
"If only You Again understood that its story was suited for screwball comedy. It labors under the delusion that this assembly of half-baked ideas is destined for a higher comic calling — for example, in the warmhearted romantic weeper category." - Chicago Sun-Times
Good For Kids?
You Again's comical antics will keep the kids going for quite a while.
